Transport to Seattle
I posted on another thread that I would be willing to transport two or three Boxers to the Seattle area. There is a member here that works at a small rescue that said she could help to place some Boxers if someone could get them there. Another member was able to get the dogs to Nashville. I will be leaving KY on the 21st and driving straight through. I am also planning a trip to the Costco in Brentwood, TN on Saturday the 17th. If the other parties out there in BW would like to see this transport happen, please respond to this thread. I will provide food for the dogs and the gas to get them to Seattle. If there is to be any money involved with the transfer, I would prefer that be done between the rescue and shelters. -Jan
Also, to the rescue in the Seattle area, if you would mention what city you're in I can look up your rescue and contact you.

I am in Athens, Georgia and the one willing to drive the dogs to Nashville. I am leaving the 17th or 18th if you guys do need me to help just let me know. I am done with finals on wed. and can come get the dogs from anywhere around here if need be and I can foster for a couple of days as well. Thanks!!

I could possibly foster and find a home for a boxer that is in danger of being put to sleep. Are you aware of any boxers in shelters in your area that need help?

There are none in my immediate area, but there's a plethora in the Carolinas. There was a previous post on them that has since been deleted. A member from the Seattle area posted that she worked with a rescue and could place some if there was some way to get them there. I offered to transport from KY, while Emily86 said she could get them to Nashville. I'm still willing to transport, but time is running short. We need to hear from the rescue in Seattle, 'cause I won't just turn dogs over to a shelter and if you would be fostering that would also need to be co-ordinated through a rescue.

Yes time is running short
I am leaving Athens, Georgia this saturday morning. I will be checking the site often to see if any updates have been made. Maybe we could call the rescue in Seattle to see if they are able to place some of the dogs. I have spoken with a volunteer for the boxer rescue in the carolinas several times so if there was a definite place for the dogs could go. I could contact her again to see if she knows of any dogs that they can't take. As in the southeast there are many homeless dogs.

I think perhaps you are talking about my post a few weeks ago offering to help find homes for a few boxers in the Seattle area. The rescue group I volunteer for is now full w dogs they pulled from local shelters that were scheduled to be euthanized. I can't at this time ask them to take on any more. Also, I don't think I can mention the name of the rescue since they are not an approved Boxer Rescue with Boxer World.
I AM willing to take in a dog at my own home and try to find a forever home for it. I realize this would be forcing you or anyone to place alot of faith in someone you've never met to take a dog and find it a good home. I also realize time is extremely short, and for that reason alone it may not work out.
I hope at some point the rescue I volunteer for or I myself can do something to help. Please let me know if there's anything I can do now or in the future.

We still might be able to pull this off. Even if it is only one dog saved. Even if the shelter isn't taking in any more dogs, it might be better if it was fostered through the rescue. If Emily can still manage to get one dog out, I will bring it to you.
I'm guessing your shelter pulled several dogs from the Everett shelter. I read the story about it right after we posted on the other thread. I did have second thoughts about bringing more dogs into an already over populated area. I've seen other posts here from people looking for Boxers in the Seattle area and there just aren't many to be had. If someone is looking for breed specific dogs than it isn't going to make any difference to the animals already in the shelters.
You don't have to say what rescue you're with, just the city and I can find it. Are you with a rescue in Bellevue?

found 3 boxers
ok, well there are three boxers in a shelter near where I live. I am not sure if they have been reclaimed or if a rescue is set to pull them, but I will call the shelter tomorrow to see if any of them are still available. I am not sure if the dogs have to be altered before they leave, usually they do. But if not I can pick them up and bring them. So I will let you guys know asap...Where would you like to meet in Nashville if this can happen?

I'm not familiar with Nashville at all. I'll be at the Costco in Brentwood. It's right off 65. Is that on the way to Memphis? If not, name a place and I can Map Quest it. Right now it looks like it would be just one dog.

Can you tell me the name of this shelter? Do you have someone there you've been in contact with? Is there a fee for pulling dogs for a rescue? If they are spayed/neutered that would be helpful or I would need to pay for that myself. I work tomorrow and don't get home untill 3:00pm, are you leaving tomorrow morning?
