Last Saturday I went with
Gwyneth (our speedy moderator) to Paris from Brussels. It was a short visit but long enough for Gwyneth I believe to have an overview of the city, huge and tiring waiting line for Eiffel tower included
The photos were taken too quickly and many of them aren't well framed... It gives me a reason for going back there to take better photos

Jardin (garden) des Tuileries (17C). It is located between the Louvre and the place de la Concorde.

Tour Eiffel. It was built in 1887 for the Paris exhibition of 1889 by Gustave Eiffel. He's the one who also built the interior structure of the Statue of Liberty.

La Cathédrale Notre Dame. It took time to build it (1163 to 1345). Great place for gargoyles lovers

Centre Pompidou - Beaubourg. It's a building made of steel and glass box suspended from beams supported by visible
scaffolding. You can see the escalators in the tubes. It's a public library and also the National gallery of modern art.

L'Arc de Triomphe & Champs Elysées. There is the tomb of the "unknown soldier" of WWI below the arch. The arch was built in 1806 to celebrate Napoléon's victories.

This is the Hôtel des Invalides. It is a military school. Napoléon I's tomb is below the dome.

It's the Parc du Champs de Mars. The building at the end of the park is a military school for officers.
The black tower in the background is the Tour Montparnasse. There is a restaurant there with a fantastic panoramic view

Effeil Tower. There are two restaurants on the two first levels. Most pictures posted here were taken from the third floor (276 meters - 905.51 feet).
