Anyone been to Las Vegas?

Hubby and I are going to Las Vegas in September. Thinking of staying at the Flamingo Las Vegas. Anyone been to Vegas and stayed at the Flamingo? Not interested in gambling. Just want to take a cheap vacation and have fun.

No, I have not. I would love to go to Vegas some day. Have a wonderful time when you do go. I hear it is really inexpensive to travel there.

Thumbs up vegas

Have been there about 5 times and I love it. We are not gamlbers either, there is plenty to do and see without gambling, every resort has a theme and a special attraction and some are free some are not. We play slots a little and once and while blackjack. You will walk your legs off and be prepared for it to be hot and find ways to stay cool...

We go to vegas for the sites and the shows. Hey while your there I would recommend the www.bluemangroup.com if you see a show. Its around $60.00 a ticket but well worth it. They were great. They are at the Luxor and its neat to see too... They are the ones who used to do the intel commercials... Let me know if you see them and what you thought

Thanks for tip on bluemangroup. The ticket price is a little spendy this time. But I will keep it in mind. We will be getting a Boxer puppy shortly after this trip so we need to go cheap. Looking forward to laying by a pool, eating, and taking in the sites and lights. Lost our boy General recently (see Rainbow Bridge) so this is trip to get away, forget about things and regroup before the new puppy comes. I do want to go to the Dolphin Habitat at the Mirage (I think) though. And of course some roller coasters.

However, never Las Vegas...not that I wouldn't want to....As it happens though, my brother and family are at this minute holidaying there....I can't wait to see the photos and hear all their experiences.

I may have more to say on this subject....he,he...in a few years...both my daughter and her friend, both 14....fancy being croupiers at the casino's in Las Vegas....so who knows!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We got married in Vegas last August, it was a blast!! We had about 18 people out there with us which made it really nice. We just booked a flight last week to back in September. We are staying at the Excalibur, which we found to be one of the cheapest, yet it's one of the newer ones. We're pretty excited to go back, with the wedding and all, we didn't get to see everything we would have liked to. This time there will be nothing holding us back.

I absolutely love Las Vegas! I have been going there since 1990 and my parents moved there in 1992. So now I have an even better excuse to go. Now that they live there I usually just stay with them; however, I've stayed in a lot of hotels and the Flamingo is nice. My friends parents used to stay there every year when they went on vacation and now they live in Las Vegas, too! You will absolutely love it -- there is sooooo much to do besides gambling you won't know what to do first. I love going to all the hotels and seeing the shows in front -- the volcano at the Mirage, the pirate ships at Treasure Island but I especially love fountain show at the Bellagio.

Hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

Linda

Vegas is fun!

I've been to Vegas twice. First time I stayed at Ceasars Palace, second time Flamingo. They are across the street from each other.

If you're 'into' the hotel room itself I liked Ceasars better. The Flamingo room was a plain hotel room whereas Ceasars room had that shear netting over the bed and a jacuzzi in the room. (Just tell them you want a room like that--it didnt cost extra.)

Try to take in a show while you're there, get tickets early---they sell out. There is a guy in Vegas (cant think of his name) but he is a singing impressionist. I saw him on Dateline? and he is good! If you're into magic, maybe David Copperfield will be appearing at one of the hotels.

If you call the airlines that go west ask them to send you one of their airplane magazines. In there you will find GREAT hotel bargins and meal coupons! The hotels offer these almost give-a-way prices because they want you to stay there and gamble all your money at their casino. Of course, you're not under obligation, they just hope.

Have fun!

PS Elvis used to stay at the Flamingo when he went to Vegas...of course he got the penthouse.

Been there twice. Stayed once at the Riviera and once at The Mirage. The Mirage was nice, especially their pool and all the animals that they have there. We saw Mystere, a Cirque du Soliel show, at Treasure Island. Phenomenal. I was on the verge of tears the music and the movements were so powerful. Then again, I'm just a freak about stuff like that. Eat at the Cheesecake Factory in Caesar's. Not overly priced and you do get huge portions. Excellent food and service. Go to the top of the Stratosphere if you can. At night, it is the most beautiful thing. Will think of more places later and post if I can remember what they're all called.
