Pad for crate in airplane

Hi, I hope that this is the correct place for my question.

Billy has to have an absorbent pad in his crate when he returns with us to the UK. I cannot put a towel or newspapers in. The only pads I have been able to find so far are the house training pads and these are not what I am after - as I understand that these are used to encourage the dog to go. Any ideas?

We have had to train Major to use the "Puppy pads" during the day as we are gone for too long periods of time... There are some types you can get that have pheramone attractants in them to encourage them to go. This would probably be your best bet!

Thanks for your reply. The pads that I want are not the house breaking puppy pads. Obviously, with an 11 hour flight time and then adding loading/unloading time Billy will have to go to the bathroom in his crate. I am sure that there is something similar to the training pads that does not have the 'pee here' attractive smell on them.

What about those pads they use in hospitals? They are absorbent blue pads that they put under people but on top of the sheets. I bet you could find them at a pharmacy or a medical supply store.

Also I do think that they have “unscented” puppy pads.

PS When are you leaving?

Thanks for your reply. I have ordered some of the washable ones suggested.
We leave for the UK in August. Billy had his new microchip fitted and rabies jab done last month. On Tuesday he goes back to the vet for a blood sample to be taken, this gets sent to the lab in Kentucky and checked that all is OK. His 6 month countdown starts on Tues providing all is ok with his blood sample.
