My Diesel Boy.
Diesels story: My boyfriend was actually the one who had his heart set on a boxer and so I began searching. I looked online at several breeders but I really had my heart set on saving a dog who really needed it. After my first (and last) trip into a pound, I decided I could not go that route (The dog we pre-adopted ended up having parvo, which it had for at least two weeks without being treated or anything, and was euthanized without even letting us try to save it.) I began looking everywhere. I ended up finding this website that was like online classified ads and a woman had just written a post about a young boxer boy who they had adopted from the pound but didn't get along with there boxer that they already owned and he needed a home! I emailed her as quickly as possible and told her that I was more than interested. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to make it out to see them that day and they were insistant that the dog be given away on a "first come, first serve basis". She said she would try and wait as long as possible, but there were no guaruntees. Later that night I checked my email and was devistated to find that he had already been given away. I told her that if anything came up to be sure and call me and sure enough, the next day the man had brought him back (apparently he was a surprise that his wife was not too thrilled about.) I dropped everything and rushed over there as soon as possible and met my soon-to-be Diesel boy. We think he was about a year when we took him and was about 60 pounds. Now, 5 months later, and at about 75 pounds, we could not be happier. He's such a great boy who is the biggest lover in the world. We wonder about his past though (he's afraid of knives?!? and small hallways) but he seems to be a very well-adjusted dog and we are so lucky to have him!

That is such a great ending, pretty sad that the lady that orginally rescued him was pretty much going to let him go to anyone. But you were meant to give him a good home, and I feel the rescued dogs really appreciate it and you will get love back tenfold.

I'm so glad your boy got a wonderful forever home - the way people get and discard animals just makes me spitting mad.
