My girl wasn't rescued from an abusive home. She was 3 months old when her owners decided they couldn't keep her - too hyper with a toddler in the house. To their credit they wouldn't abandon her or even take her to the shelter, but knew that we loved dogs and just lost the second of our beloved G. Shepherds. We were going to wait and see what it would be like without a dog, but I couldn't take the quiet in the house anymore. Of course one look at a 3 month old puppy and it was all over. So here she came and out went quiet! She certainly livened up the house. I never had such a goofy dog before. I can't imagine how anyone can look in those brown eyes and abuse them.
