Closing a Thread
When I post I like to follow the post so I don't ignore peoples replies. Well I was wondering if there was an option for me to close a thread I started so I don't have to follow it any longer.

No, there isn't
 That would rather defeat the purpose of a message board. However, you'll notice that all threads with zero activity will close automatically after everybody has ignored them for +30 days, so your threads will not remain active forever.
