WKPA dog show in Pittsburgh time?

Does anyone know what time the Boxers will be in the ring on Saturday? Infodog posts for Sunday but not Saturday. My husband said someone told him 10am but he is not certain the info is accurate. Also, do you know what ring #?

I didn't know there was even a dog show in PGH now. Can anyone go to these? We usualy go to the car show at the convention center but this year didn't go so maybe we could go to a dog show instead! I can't really find any info on it. I have never been to dog show before and think it would be interesting.

**nevermind, I found the infomation I was looking for**

do they allow you to take your dogs with you? and are you going furrykidmom??

Yes, I am going. I will be there on Saturday morning to see the Boxers. Then I will probably just check out the other rings and see what is interesting to me. I also want to see what the vendors have.

You are not allowed to take your dog along. I wish you could. It is open to the public. It is nine dollars for adult admission.

I found my info also. Boxers will be in ring 7 at ten am on Saturday and ring 10 at nine am on Sunday.

I have never been to this show before. I have only been to one dog show before and it was in New Castle. At the New Castle show you were able to stand ring side for confirmation. A lot of people brought their own chairs with them. I have no idea if there will be a seating area that you watch from or if it will be like New Castle. When I think of dog shows I think of Westminister and the Eukanuba Cup where people are seated in an arena.

Do you think you might be there? Did you go to the Pet Expo?

I tried to talk Stephen into going but he said no I would go myself but I refuse to drive in PGH and have no idea how to even get to the convention center. I will keep working on him but I doubt he will give in. No, I did not go to the pet expo, didn't even know there was one. I never know what is going on unless I hear it on the radio or catch a commercial on tv

Where do you live? I am in clarion county (about halfway between PGH and Erie)

I live Northeast of Pittsburgh by about 30 miles. We work in the city so we are used to the trip. My DH does not want to go either. He works in the Strip district and he is swamped with work right now. He is going to drop me off and go into work.

I know one of the handlers and one of the exhibitors.

Parking at the convention center is easy. You can park right at the convention center or right next door in the Strip district. The earlier the better. A lot of people go shopping in the Strip on Saturday mornings so parking is hard to come by but the convention center should be able to handle the traffic for the show.

Hope you are having fun at the show! We don't live too terribly far apart then, quite a way but not to bad. I don't know if you have ever heard of Parker, but that is where I live. Smallest City in the USA...yay!

Sorry you missed it

Sorry you missed it. It was great. There was a stunning little English Boxer girl with natural ears. Met some nice people watching shows and in the booths.

They had some nice booths. Woody got a new Lupine collar. I bought him the Terra Cotta pattern. It looks great with his brindle coat and white collar. I also bought some homemade biscuits from 4 paws bakery. I bought some carrot biscuits at the Pet Expo and my kids went nuts over them. They had big carrot cookies this time. I also bought some peppermint ones. I got a few of the new Zuke's breath biscuits from the Pet Supplies Plus booth. I put my foot in my mouth while I was there. The only dog food that they had at their booth was Purina who was right next door. I commented to the vendor that I was surprised that they did not have some of their higher quality foods with them. I commented how they were one of the few big chains that were carrying WDJ approved foods. The vendors mouth just dropped and he started pointing at the Purina people uncertain of what to say. Finally, I said, "Is Purina sponsering your booth?" He replied "Yes" and I quickly wished him a good day and said Goodbye. Oops.

I also found Boxer window stickers. I got one that says "got Boxers" and I ordered a four inch silhoutte and a magnet.

I watched a little obedience and found myself bouncing up and down for handlers when the dogs did really well but I loved watching the agility. I am considering going again tomorrow just to watch agility. I had my eye on a couple of other items that I was thinking about but never went back to get. I did not want any impulse buys that I might regret and not be able to return.

Maybe you can make it next year. Maybe we can meet somewhere and I will drive the rest of the way into the city.

Hope you had a nice Saturday also.

Sounds like you had a good time and I missed out Are the things they are selling there expensive? I figured they would be. I don't have a much of a selection here, I can drive into butler to a small pet store but they are ridicioulus(sp?) and I do not like the rudeness of the employees. I buy mostly from Walmart, Target and online if I want to get something special. Walmart doesn't have much of a collar choice but I didn get Abbie a striped one and Brady got a new one too today. I am going to have to travel to Cranberry twnshp. to go to Petsmart or Petco (whichever is there) once the weather gets warmer. I hope you have fun tommorrow as well! Be safe.

Prices varied. Depends on what you were looking for. The purse that I mentioned was $55 and the necklace was $18. I regret not getting the necklace and I do not have the time to go back today.

The Lupine collar was almost $13. There was a woman that made homemade collars although I did not price them because we only use martingale style collars. So we are big fans of Lupine and Premier.

There were treats ranging from cheap to a bit costly but I believe that you get what you pay for. I spent time reading labels and often putting things back down and walking away because they contained corn or wheat. We try to avoid giving our dogs those grains.

The window rubs on were $3 for the little got boxer one and 8 for the Boxer Silhouette. I guess it depends on what you are looking for. Someone tried to sell me a gaudy pin for several hundred dollars.

I did not price any clothing except a really nice Boxer hooded sweatshirt which was $35. I think that is reasonable. It had Boxer embrodiered on it and a small fawn Boxer. Since both of mine are brindle I passed. I did not price t-shirts, afghans, statues, yard art...

One guy had a really nice dog bed made out of fleece that had a round opening for the dog to go into the bed. It was not big enough for my Boxer boy but my baby would have been a perfect fit. It was $55 and she will outgrow it in a few months. It did not seem worth it for something she might use for 60 days.

I am considering going to Nationals in Kentucky but I do not want to drive down by myself. It is a five hour drive. I do not want to go bad enough to pay to fly. I looked up flights last night and the cheapest was $400. And I only want to be there for Monday and Tuesday.

What sort of things are you looking for?
