Bobtail BPIS @ Northern UK Championship

Sunday the 11th April marked a great day for the bobtail Boxer in the UK as acreoaks Calendar girl for Steynmere went best minor puppy bitch (nineteen in class), best puppy bitch, and then BPIS. All this at only her second Championship show.
'Cally' is owned and handled by Dr.B Cattanach, the originator of the Bobtail line, so it was especially pleasing that he should get the accolade.

Cheers
Barry
One very proud breeder.

That's great to hear.

I have read about Dr Cattanach's work and found it to be very interesting although I know some people don't agree that the Bobtails are pure because they have Corgi in them!

My own dog, Billy was sired by Steynmere Foreign Service and so I have taken an interest in Steynmere and Dr Cattanach.

Congratulations Barry You must be a very proud breeder indeed! Best puppy in show (all-breeds) is a great achievement.

I too find it very interesting. As for pure, with continuous outcrossing, I believe a 6th generation bobtail would only have something like 1.5% 'non-boxer' genes.

Hi Gwyneth,
The show was in fact a Boxer Breed Show (if it had been an all breeds win I would have written in gold lettering !!!) She she did beat about seventy other pups though and even made it to the last four for the CC.

A link to Cally can be found here : http://www.steynmere.com/BOBTAILS.html

Cheers
