Suggestions for long lasting stuff for Kongs?
Any ideas for stuffing kongs that will last all day? So far I have tried freezing peanut butter in them...but it only lasts half an hour. I have stuffed them with carrot, apple, frozen yogurt cubes...but all are eaten within an hour. I am looking for something that might last longer, to keep my dogs busy while I am at work.

I found a dispenser that puts out four kongs during the day. Maybe that would work?

Also I've been reading about people on here filling the Kong with cooked oatmeal, & then freezing it.

Hey! I made the plain oatmeal and added a little bit of applesauce, no sugar added, to give the oatmeal a little flavor and Hurley thought she was in Heaven!! I also did the same and sliced some bananas in there as well!!

It unlikely that you will find something that will keep them busy for that long. If you can keep them busy for half an hour or so that is usually long enough. It is usually in the first 30 minutes that dogs suffer from separation anxiety and that is when most destruction occurs.
Good luck!

I have heard of people keeping their dogs busy with a kong for hours, I am searching for that combination. The longest I can keep mine busy is about 20 minutes. I have tried layering kibble, yogurt, and other things. I made oatmeal and froze it, I tried the wheat germ with mashed bananas and yogurt and whatever else I could find to throw in there. Maybe it is becasue I am using kong alternatives (fire hydrant shaped from Walmart) until the actual Kongs that I ordered come tomorrow. I have my Mom's dog right now which is the brother to Brady since someone dumped some sort of acid over his head. Having two 85 pound dogs and a 16 week puppy, I need a break and every minute from the kong is cherished so if I could find something to last longer would be Heaven....

I think the packing technique makes all the difference as to how long a Kong will last. I tend to just stuff things in there without thinking much about the size of the bits, the direction they're put in the Kong, etc. Every once in a while I must get a odd-sized/shaped bit of something in there and it gets stuck, so Beasley really really has to work at it to get the yummies out. He's crated while I'm gone so if he does have a "sticker" he's gotta wait until I get home so he can start tossing it around the room trying to dislodge all the bits.
Okay...you know you need to get a life when you find yourself analyzing Kong stuffing techniques...
