Treats

Having tried many of the dog treat recipes I've now come up with my own version which Billy and Tommy absolutely adore.

In a food mixer put

5 tablespoons brown flour
1 tablespoon grated parmesan cheese
0.5 tablespoons chopped parsley

mix

add one egg
one clove crushed garlic
1 tablespoon tomato puree

make up some chicken stock and add to the mixture until it forms a dough. If you add too much just add a bit more flour.

Knead the dough a little before rolling out flat. Cut into small pieces and roll the pieces into balls about the size of a grape.

Dip them in some beaten eg and place on a baking tray.

Bake in the oven for 35 mins on 150 celsius / Gas 4.

When 35 mins is up turn off the oven but leave the treats in there until cooled to really harden them off.

The garlic is good for their repiratory systems
The tomato puree may help prevent lawn burn.

Excellent! I will try it but not sure if we have brown flour here........the closest we have is wheat. Unless you mean unbleached flour? Reguardless they sound great!

Yes I expect wheat flour would be the one. I use brown bread flour as I usually use it for making wholewheat loaves.

I hope your dogs love 'em.
