Substituting flours
My boy has wheat allergies. Can I substitute rye flour for wheat flour in a recipe- or will that mess it up? Thanks!

I can't imagine that using rye instead of wheat flour is going to mess anything up. All flour is for is binding the mixture together, and rye can do it as well as wheat can. I'm sure your dogs won't notice a bit of difference

thanks for the reply. I'm a new baker, so I'm sure if anything messes it up, it will be me! haha!

I use rye flour instead of wheat flour and my recipes come out just fine for my dogs.

I have often used brown rice flour instead of wheat. It worked just fine when making dog cookies.

HI! I was wondering where you get rice flour or other kinds of flour?
THanks! I live in Mississippi & haven't seen any other kind of flour at walmart or the grocery stores.

I get the Rye flour at our SuperWalmart or other grocery store in our town. You might ask someone if they carry it and if they don't, ask them if they could.

If you can't find them in your local grocery story, you could try a health food store.
