Cookies

I know it can't be good for him, but Jax loves people cookies. I made him some homemade dog biscuits, basically with oatmeal, flour, garlic, and chicken broth, but he wouldn'ttouch them. He LOVES my oatmeal raisin cookies, or frosted oatmeal cookies, or oreos, or anything else we're eating like brocoli, cucumber, watermelon, greenbeans(frozen), and just about anything else your eating. I gave the homemade dog cookies to my in-laws for their Jack Russel, whom apparently loved them.

He doesn't like beggin strips, justlikears, or peanut butter kongs. The only thing he likes is rawhides, and anything mom is eating, like cookies. I tried the alternative justlikears, which are supposed to be longer lasting, and yea, it was longer lasting. Until I threw it away because I was tired of it laying on the flood ignored.

Anyone have any suggestions on DOG treats for a picky dog, because I know him eating people food can't be healthy.

There is a recipe on BW that is called 'Tuna Fudge'. Samson LOVED it, but he wont eat it frozen. I'll look it up for you and post the recipe...

Tuna Fudge

2 - 6 oz. cans tuna OR 1 - 14 oz. can salmon (do not drain either)
1 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
1 Tbsp garlic powder or granulated garlic
2 eggs -- lightly beaten
grated parmesan cheese, about 1 handful

mix all together in a mixer or food processor, I use a food
processor and toss in a few small chunks of parmesan cheese first to grate those, then add the rest all at once and pulse until thoroughly mixed, takes maybe 3 minutes start to finish.

grease a 9x9 pan (I line with parchment paper), bake in 350 degree oven for 20 minutes

Texture is sort of fudge/putty-like .Keep them in freezer as they freeze very well. They can be kept in the refrigerator for 3 days. I cut them into very small squares. I toss them into a freezer bag and leave in freezer until needed. Only take out the amount required.
