Cabbage Soup Diet Recipes Wanted

Has anyone tried the one week "Cabbage Soup diet" ? If so, can you post your recipes... I'm looking for variation to make the week go by faster. (Also, how did it work for you?) I'm looking for a jumpstart to weight-loss as we're going on a cruise at the end of January.

I personally haven't tried it, although I have heard that it is really bad for you.

I know my in-laws did it several years ago though (I believe for a lot longer than a week) and they lost an incredible amount of weight.

It says on the site that it can be bad for you if you go on it longer than a week as it's only intended as a "jump start". It has a whole meal plan mapped out for you to follow in addition to the soup. The meal plan is for exactly one week. If you follow the meal plan, you can lose ten + lbs as a jump start. I'm definately not looking at this as a long term diet. But I do wish to switch up the recipe for the soup throughout the week if anyone has any good ideas.

Don't know how open you are to this, but I bought a Jack Lalanne juicer. I juice an apple and grapefruit, drink in the morning. did the same with carrot added for lunch, and same thing as lunch with nectarine added for a snack in between the meals up to supper. I was losing on average 1-2 pounds a day. I wasn't really hungry either. You can juice pretty much any type fruit/vege you like. I need to start it up again. Just a suggestion.

The cabbage soup I make consists of

beef broth, shredded cabbage, canned tomatoes, carrots, green beans, celery and basicallay any other veggie you want to add. I like to add different spices or hot sauces to perk it up a little. Boil all veggies in beef broth until cooked.

This is interesting! How does this diet work? What can you eat with it (or is it just juice?)

Thanks! It sounds similar to what I did (except I used chicken broth) and I didn't use green beans; but that sounds good.
