Wink 7 layer bars (magic cookie bars) FINALLY!!!

I'm so sorry that it took me so long to post this. I even made these today! I like to use chopped pecans as the nuts. You can add virtually anything you like, mini-m&m's, peanut butter chips, etc. Today I added milk chocolate covered toffee bits too. I'm having a friend for dinner and he is a HUGE dessert fan. I'll let you know how they go over.....

1/2 cup (1 stick) butter or margarine
1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
1 (14-oz.) can Eagle Brand Sweetened Condensed Milk (NOT evaporated milk)
1 cup (6-oz.) butterscotch flavored chips
1 cup (6 oz.) semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 1/3 cups flaked coconut
1 cup chopped nuts
Preheat oven to 350°, (325° for glass dish). In 13x9-inch baking pan, melt butter in oven.
Sprinkle crumbs over butter; pour Eagle Brand evenly on top of crumbs. Top with remaining ingredients in order listed; press down firmly with fork.
Bake 25 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool. Chill if desired. Cut into bars. Store covered at room temperature.

Tip: For perfectly cut cookie bars line entire pan (including sides) with a sheet of aluminum foil first. When bars are baked, cool; lift up edges of foil to remove from pan. Cut into individual squares. Lift off of foil.

Robyn, sounds good except for the butterscotch chips...could I just double the amount of chocolate chips instead?

You could Julie although they are extremely rich as it is. Maybe try another add in like the mini M&M's or the Heath bar bits or something. Or just skip the butterscotch and add peanut butter bits.

Julie, this is a good recipe because your little boys can just sprinkle it on themselves plus there is no bowl to clean up, you gotta love that!!!
