Question Is he ever going to grow?

I took my pup over to the lady who gave him to me to see the other puppies today. I have had him since he was 3 weeks because he had to be bottlefed. He is SO much smaller then the other pups! Like a couple of pound difference! The other pups were rejected by mom also, and Bogie has been eating premium dog food while the other puppies have been on some kind of food that is 10.00 for the 40lb bag that she said she got at the mill. Why are the pups all looking big fat and healthy, while my spoiled little guy is looking small and bony? The vet said he is perfectly healthy when he went for his shots last week. He eats like there is no tomorrow, and he is worm free. Do you think he is just going to be a midget boxer?

I bet he'll catch up later, and that if you had him together with his siblings at 1 year there wouldn't be such a dramatic difference. I'd just keep doing the right things like you are, with the premium food, etc. He may just be growing at a different pace than the rest right now. Or maybe the other "junk" food is blowing them up, so to speak, rather than giving them quality nourishment.

I bet you have a really special bond with Bogie since you bottle fed him.

Wow! 3 weeks? In some states, it is illegal to sell pups before 8 weeks of age. Irrespective of when they are weaned, puppies need to be with their littermates until they are 8 weeks of age, and there is absolutely no reason in the world that you should have taken that puppy home at 3 weeks. I would report the "breeder" who allowed this, for sure.

To answer your original question, all puppies grow at different rates. What specifically, are you feeding him?

If the Vet says that he is healthy, I wouldn't worry too much..

He's eating Chicken Soup dry with merrick canned

I offered to bottlefeed 2 of the puppies for the lady that had them. She is an acquaintance and unfortunately a byb. I did not plan to keep Bogie, but I fell in love tith him. I traded her a "free spay" that I paid for since we use the same vet, for Bogie. The dog needs spayed, needless to say. This is her second litter, 2 heats in a row. She is 2 years old. Enough about all of that though.

I guess I shouldn't worry so much about his size. I'm sure he will grow eventually.
