Question potty training, feeding , fighting

Hello, I picked up my puppies 1 week ago( female fawn and a male brindle ) yes brother and sister. I am so confused I don't know where to begin. First of all I have them in the same crate with the divider( is this a bad idea) and there have been some accidents mostly at night. I don't give them water after 8pm and I take them out at 10pm,2am, 4am, and 7am. I don't understand how they are still wetting their bed also i am scared that i am starting a bad habit of getting up all night to let them out. During the day hours they eat, crate, out to potty, play for 20 minutes, crate etc. with three meals a day I feel like I not allowing them much time out of the crate is this a good system for a couple of weeks? When they are out to play they tend to fight/play alot with each other resulting in A LOT OF CRYING OUT i can't tell if they are fighting or playing but it seems a though they are hurting each other.

With your puppies being only 7 weeks old, they just aren't really in control of their bladders yet. Accidents WILL happen. We took Clara outside to potty about as often as you do when she was that tiny and she had accidents. At 7 wks old, they're only able to hold it they're age in months plus one hour so it really isn't very long.

I'm not sure about the crate. I've never crated Clara but I'm sure that as long as they get PLENTY of exercise when they're not in the crate, they'll be fine. If you can't keep a close eye on them while you're home, they probably should be crated. That'll also help with the housebreaking. As far as fighting, I'm sure they're just playing. If it gets a little out of hand, separate them for a while.

Hope that helped a little bit. BW is a great place for advice!

Are your puppies growling, barking, mouthing at eachother? I think this is very normal for a puppy to play like this. when we brought Bianca into our household this is how she would play with Dasia. She would get on top of her and growl and snarl, bark and latch on to Dasia's lower jaw. Mind you, Bianca is only about 15-17 pounds ( a wee pup) and Dasia is 50pounds. When watchign them play i thought they where goign to kill eachother. Dasia is NOT vocal in play but unfortunatly Bianca is she sounds down right scary. However we NOW know the difference from playing and really fighting. Dasia has NEVER hurt Bianca in any way but a couple of times when Bianca wasn't listening to SIT and Dasia was Dasia got frustrated and slammed Bianca to the ground and snarled. We always check for marks on Bianca with all the "mouthing" they do, but NOT one scratch or nic on her! Dasia on the other hand.... poor pup she has scratches galore from Bianca's needle teeth. We always monitor their playing and we are trying to curb Bianca's growling and barking when in play.

After playing check both of them to see if any injuries like scratches and etc are visible. I'm sure that it looks like they are killing eachother but they are quite gently with one another.

Wow! 2 at once! I have enough trouble keeping up with one! (plus my 2 skinkids) You have a lot in store! It's great that you've found BW!! You'll get a lot of great advice!

The potty thing is normal, and won't last long. Kobe did that for about the first week, but he's doing much better now. He hasn't had an accident in his crate for a few days.

Good luck!! Keep us posted!
