Astonished!

My husband and I have an 8 week old fawn male named Riley. I must say we are just amazed at our pup! He is social, absolutely loves kids, sleeps through the night (no crate (not a big fan) and he is just wonderful. I feel like the honeymoon is about to end though - how could our puppy be so good. Sure he has accidents (he is a puppy) but man he is so fun to work with and watch and train that after reading all of the post, I am sure the terror begins! It wasn't until I was on this site that I realized that puppies "go crazy" between certain hours was normal. This I can attest!! We actually started to sort that ourselves just being with him the last few days. We noted the time and place that he reared his little bug eyed head and he lost his composure! It was kind of cool. He was not perfect. We liked it! He was being real and who can fault that! And we sort of figured out that it wasn't all of the time but some quirky trait which made it even more endearing! Reading on this site that other pups do the same thing - wow! how endearing right?!

I guess my question is - do we entertain them like they are the only the things around or do we are live life like they need to sort it to fit in with us (instincts screaming).. I want the best for our baby - we love him, he is peculiar and of course I can't think my way out of any situation involving him (which I love)!!

There are lots of experts/lovers on here... Please advise

Speaking from my experience with Daizy, I would definitely live life as normal as possible and let your puppy adjust accordingly. We did this and it worked out great. She learned to kind of 'go with the flow' and is super laid back.
