Pooping puppy!
Just a quick question, how much does your puppy poop? Our girl is about 9 weeks now, and she was just taken outside, and she pooped/peed. My fiancee came in, jumped straight in the shower and she'd pooped THREE more times in the house by the time she came out!
It's like she has an infinite supply stored in her, and no matter how much she goes she can always go more. I doublechecked the amount of Canidae we feed her, and it's the right amount, and the stool is firm and there's no liquid mess or anything like that.

Re: Pooping puppy!
Hmm, my puppy poops about 4 times a day now. At 9 weeks, he pooped about 5 or 6 times a day.
Sometimes it takes him a few attempts to get it all out in the mornings. I sometimes notice that he loses his balance and stops pooping before the pipes are all cleared!

oops, I also wanted to ask if you were crate training him? If you confine him to a smaller space, he'll try to hold his bowels as long as he can. If he is allowed to roam, he won't bother to hold it.

Re: Pooping puppy!
When she was a puppy, Grumpy used to poop more often than she peed! We were amazed by how much poo could come out of such a little dog I agree about crate training (or confining her somehow) to help teach her to hold it if she's going in the house... but otherwise, as long as her stool is ok, I wouldn't worry too much. As she got older, Grumpy went much less frequently... she's a year old now and just goes once when she gets up and once before bed.

The first time we used the crate she pooped it in, then stomped in it and made such a mess it was a nightmare to clean, what a little fiesty girl we have!

Try making the crate smaller by using a partition. You can also try feeding her in there. Dogs will try their hardest not to eliminate in their sleeping areas or where they eat!
It is worth a shot anyway... Riker certainly had days when he was a little poop machine too!

We had partitioned it, and we think this is how come she ended up stomping in it, after the accident she had nowhere to go! She's fiesty but we'll get through this, we ended up buying her this dog 'hoodie' for at night so she can go last thing at night, she keeps trying to hold out on us.
We discovered she does better the further you take her away from the house at night, even to outside our own yard, as otherwise she just stares at the doorway desperately longing to be back in her nice warm bed!

My last little girl did that and we did use the divider to give her less space and it worked. Silly pups
