Talking One More Question - Sorry!

Okay. I'm in the process of ordering the book entitled "Natural Nutrition for Dogs and Cats: The Ultimate Pet Diet" and am going to get a food processor, as I've read some posts saying that you need one for the veggies.

I starting this, and then wondered . . . what if my dog doesn't like the veggie's? I'm not sure that he'll want to eat a big pile of pureed veggie's. Is there anything in the veggie mush that makes it's desirable for them?

Well Rocks loves his veggies so he will eat them plain. However that is not how he gets them In his veggies through out the week he gets: offal, cottage cheese, yogurt, fruit, ground beef, applesauce (unsweetened kind)

The garlic and raw eggs are already added in my mush. If you do a search you will find loads of info reguarding veggie mush and what we all do with it

The following is how I prepare my veggie mushes....

I use 6lbs of veggies and puree them in the food processor - I usually use 2lbs of 3 different veggies.

3lbs of raw ground beef or pork

yogurt - low fat and plain - whole tub OR cottage cheese - low fat - whole tub
eggs - raw, preferably free range - about 9 with the shell
flax seed oil - 9 teaspoons
garlic - 5 cloves
kelp powder - 9 teaspoons

Mine love it! I haven't had any problems getting them to eat it.

Good luck and I hope this is helpful

Markus quite happiliy eats the veggies all by themselves. It never ceases to amaze that he does. He does clean the bowl better if I have added yogurt, cottage cheese or offal of some sort.

Surprisingly enough Tito loves his veggies. I think what really attracts him is the smell of garlic and chicken liver...I personally wouldn't eat for all the money in the world!! LOL :-D
It took some time and "trial and error" to find a mix he could deal with. We were fortunate to not really have too much trouble or problems. Our biggest issue was gas. We quickly learned that although he loves broccolli and cauliflour he will never get fed any of them again. THose are his "forbidden fruits". The gas is just too much.

Hope this helps and Good Luck!!
