Question

Hi,I am looking for advice on preparing meals for my baby Zoe.She has a really sensitive tummy but I want to make sure she is getting enough of what she needs without upsetting her.I had originally started with chicken breasts and rice, which didnt really thrill her.So I tried potatoes. She tolerated that with some brewer's yeast and a vitamin sup.And antacid for her rumbling tummy.Yogurt-ok/ then cottage cheese/ok
Then I tried brown rice and sweet potatoes, mind you i did this slowly and alittle at a time. I've been trying to add
veggies-like green beans(canned),beets,carrots--But I think they are bothering her.Any Ideas? THANKS!!!

You could try going with a completely raw foods diet. There are quite a few people on the big Barf list who have dogs with colitis and have had great success feeding raw. I'm sure they will be very helpful. Details of this list are here: http://www.egroups.com/group/BARF

There is also a mailing list for Barfing Boxers here: http://www.egroups.com/group/BARFingBoxers

This site has lots of info on animal health and diet too: http://www.geocities.com/HotSprings/1158/animals.htm

As far as veggies go, raw are best, dark green leafy veggies, carrots etc which have been very finely processed in a food processor or juiced. A good rule of thumb is to feed your dog veggies a rabbit would eat. There are some pics of processed veggies here: http://www.agilityboxer.com/barfpage.htm and good info on veggies here: http://www.geocities.com/boyarka_2000/cdietp2.html Bree has done up a list of the Top 50 Questions re Barf: http://www.**************************/faqs.htm

Hope all goes well with Zoe http://216.55.5.229/ubb/smile.gif
