Still havin hot spots, now brittle nails whats in bird poo

Hello All
Im feeding my two dogs a raw diet for about 5 months now
Switched to raw because of allergies which included ...

On my 7 year old ..sores in between the pads and just past the paw of his front feet
,and tail has a wee scab too ,

My other 3 year old dog is all good now after his allergy ..Bad smell and pussy glands
each side where his tail met body, the hair fell out

Heres my rough diet plan for 1 dog
I feed 500g Chicken thighs one day
, 1 kg the next day ......and back to 500g the day after that .
And a wee bit of Fish and beef mince thrown in once a week (at least)

I used to feed them various liver types , but it smells like concentrated pee to me and the
dogs dont like it either .

My older dog still has those slight allergies i mentioned and the last month ive noticed their claws are brittle (although they have grown longer than ever !)

Now my dog has been eating various poo which he never did before .
I will mention that he always trys to eat bird poo
(even on his old diet (premium kibbles )
But now hes even more mad for the poo and its got me thinkin
WHAT IS IN BIRD POO cause it must be somethin

Happy to hear some other dietary suggestions
Possibly hair nutrients needed like on wolf scat ..
I will reply anyway with my results
(dont hold your breath but im tryin to find diet info wolves in zoos )

Thanks for reading guys and gals
Tomas

Well if you are ONLY feeding your dogs chicken they are not getting a wide enough variety of nutrients. They need red meat, and also organ is important. A wolf would naturally eat deer or other large wild game (red meat) that the pack brings down. A lone wolf might eat rabbits or other small mammals and birds, but chicken is not it's prime source of food in the wild. We feed it as a source of bone and also because it is cost effective, but optimally, if I could find a whole deer for my dog every month that is all he would eat. I mean the whole deer, head and hide and organs and everything. As I can't do that, I feed him a variety of chicken, pork, and beef, with other things when I can get them.

If the organs you were feeding the dogs smelled like pee, they are not fresh. I get my dog liver and kidneys from the butcher that were in the living cow the morning of the day I pick them up and there is never ANY smell to them other than blood. If your dogs are eating poop, they are probably lacking some nutrient they are trying to find in any edible substance.
