Question Pre-made prices question

I understand that it is really expensive to buy pre-made raw in the USA, & so I was wondering just how much it does cost? So on average for 1 pack how much do you pay?

Re: Pre-made prices question

Can't say if it's an average price or not, but here's one listing for Bravo: http://kellyc.net/petpantry/ORDER.htm

1 lb of raw food there runs from about $2.95 (about £1.45) when it's chicken frames, through to about $3.60 (about £1.80) when it's beef. That 1lb is the same size as the 454 gram packs you buy in the UK. But the price in the UK is around £0.30-0.60 per pack. Sooo - it costs between 2.5 and 5 times as much in the US as UK (at least on these prices).

For the sake of being even though, kibble in the UK costs 2-3 times as much as in the US. It's actually the most expensive option.

Re: Pre-made prices question

It depends on where company, and what is in the product. Bravo is one of the more expensive brands in the US, as well as Nature's Variety. The cost difference between them and others is quiet simple....advertising and marketing, and shipping costs. Those brands advertise and sell all over the US.

You can, however, get premade/preground products locally for much more affordable prices. For example, there is a company in my state that moves quite a bit of product locally, but doesn't sell nationally or advertise that much. She sells ground chicken backs for $1.80/£0.90 pack (2 lbs/ 907 grams), ground turkey necks for $2.00/£0.50. Beef is $3.10/£1.56.

It's pretty comparable. Bravo is on the east coast of the US, and to ship and advertise to the west coast states adds alot of overhead.
