Rosco

On December 30th, 2003, we helped Rosco to the bridge. Our best guess was he was between the age of 10-11 years old. He was a *rescue* situation 3 years ago. Fit in wonderful with our son, but after some hardship, Rosco came to live with us & our own crew about 1 1/2 years ago. Everyone here respected him, and with Hoss getting older, it was very common to see them *put themselves to bed*, together, on our bed, earlier than everyone else.

Rosco, you will be greatly missed. Thanks for your love while you were with us.

For those of you scared of opening your home to an older boxer....there is nothing like the love and admiration that they give. Yes, it is hard to loose any of them, but the senior dogs have a very special quality about them.

Sabrina Jay...

I am sorry to hear about Rosco. I am glad he was able to share the past year and a half with you and your family. I am sure it was the happiest time of his life. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers.

I am sorry to hear of Rosco passing. It's great that you took him in & loved him when noone else could.
I have considered adopting a senior boxer to give it a loving home for it's final years. Knowing how attached I would get and how hard it would be when it did pass I know would be hard. But to me that would be worth it to see them happy in the end...

Sorry to hear about Rosco. It sounds like he had a great and loving family. He is very lucky to have spent his remaining year or so filled with love.

Thank you for all your support. Our son was very upset when we called him the following night, but he understands there was nothing any of us could do.

The vets office called me tonight......Rosco's ashes are back. I plan on picking him up tomorrow to bring him back home.

Oh Sabrina, I just read this and want to say how sorry I am. I just sent you a PM asking about an old girl in your rescue group. Although everyone loves a puppy, I can only imagine how sweet and wonderful an older dog would be. Condolonces to you and your family, and I'm sure Rosco left you just as content as he could be. Sabrina,

I am very sorry to hear about Roscoe. It sounds like he had a wonderful family to live out his life with. We had our senior Rocko for only 10 months before we helped him to the bridge and he was the sweetest 100 pound boxer I have ever met. God Speed Rosco. There are so many wonderful babies waiting for you at the bridge.

I am so sorry for your lost.
I am so glad you gave Rosco a second chance, and that he was so loved the last years of his life.

My deepest sympathies!
