Unhappy Goodbye my sweet Evie

Monday the 21st was a hard day for me as I had to make that decision that nobody likes to make. I had a dog that was 11 years old and needing another operation to remove tumors on her side. She had been operated on 18 months previous and had been given 6 months to 2 years. She had been scratching and bitting them over the weekend and had actually bitten a small hole in one. I took her to my vet and she thought that she was still very fit and in great health besides the tumors and felt that she would not be affected by the operation but that she felt that as the tumor had only started to be noticeable 2 months ago that the growth was so quick that we could be having her back her very shortly. I had to do what was right for her and not for me. Although I have shown boxers for 16 years Evie was from my first litter and was so very special to me as I watched her come in to this world and she had grown with me. She accepted my wife into her home, and then when children came she played with them and protected them. She was daddies girl to the end, kissing me and looking into my eyes as she went for her long sleep. She lives on in her offspring and in my heart. I love you Evie..............................

I'm so sorry to hear about Evie
It is a very difficult decision to make but you are right, it is not for us that we decide, it is the last loving gesture we can do for them because we love them so much. My 4 children were raised with Rocky and he was our first boxer. How lucky we were to have had this loving, gentle boy for his 11 1/2 years as you were to have your sweet Evie to share your lives with. They touch your heart in a way thats impossible to explain to people that have never known the joy of these beautiful babies.
My thoughts are with you and your family at this difficult time.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time. Please know that Evie was met at the bridge by many of our own wonderful and devoted creatures that too had to go on before us. Let's hope they bring comfort and companionship to each other as they await our arrivals. I am so very sorry for your loss.

Gavin... so sorry to hear this sad news. I completely understand what you went through. It's amazing how our fur babies touch our lives.
