Our beautiful little girl had to leave us

Our baby girl has joined Jake and the others at the Rainbow Bridge. I cried when I read all the tributes because our baby girl went to the rainbow bridge last week. Cassie was eight months old and on Monday 13 May was diagnosed with Parvo and she “passed on” at 8am Tuesday morning from heart failure. We have not stopped crying all week especially because we were not with her at the end. The vet did not phone us so we thought we could fetch her but when we got there he was busy in the surgery and then came out to say that she had just breathed her last. I wish I could have just held her at the end. Our old boy, Rocky now 14 yrs, waited for her all day Monday but when we got home on Tuesday morning he didn’t get up to greet us – he knew. He has tried all week to help us through the pain and we’re so grateful for his understanding. We will also have to consider “letting him go” soon because winter is approaching and he suffered badly last year with pneumonia and arthritis – he is hanging in there but struggling to get up on cold mornings.
Thanks to all of you out there who share and understand my pain and know what I mean when I say she was the naughtiest and most adorable “bitch” ever and I will always remember her and her wet kisses at the most inopportune moments!
The unbelievable joy and pain of having a boxer companion – there’s nothing that can compare with it. Goodbye my darling girl, we will always love you and remember you.

What a beautiful tribute to your beloved little girl. I am very sorry to hear of your loss and wish you the strength you will need when the decision is made for Rocky. Please know that once he too has crossed over, he will be with his friend Cassie who he so dearly misses.

Strenght and peace to you and your family.

Hilary - I am so very sorry Every time I read a post like yours I have tears in my eyes.
Your pain is overwhelming now, but please just imagine that your Cassie (and Rocky, when it's his time) is playing happily at the Rainbow Bridge and waiting for you. I am sure all the pets we've ever had in our lives will be with us when it's our time to go, and imagine what a happy and big family it will be! Maybe this will help to make you feel a little better...
