Wow! What devoted owners you are...I am so impressed. I work in a veterinary hospital and it is rare that we see owners as devoted as you are to their dogs. What a touching story you and Indy have shared, I know I have learned so much from your journey about persistance and perseverance. Most owners, sadly would have given up in a short time, so Indy is one very lucky puppy!
Sending prayers and healing thoughts to Indy and your family!

Hey, THANKS for checking on us. I had a much needed break last week and Indy went to the breeders for the week. I was glad she got to spend some time with him and see how amazing this mediciation is. We went from no meds for a week to every 3rd day at a lower dose. Last week (Tuesday 9/22) we got the good news of meds every other day again but still at the lower dose. She got to give him the Palladia for 3 doses. She couldn't believe you could see a difference the next day. We have 2 more weeks of every other day and hopes that the white blood cells will do their thing and we can keep going. So last week was a good week and I'll count that as a BLESSING!! My miracle boy is happy to be home and hanging in there. I missed him sooo much. I know our time is limited and I feel like a week was a lifetime but I truly needed a couple of days not to have to worry about anything. I am again blessed to have some really amazing people in my life. Most of them I only know on a message board. You guys keep me going and help me with my positive attitude. Thanks again Indy and I love you all!!

Whew.... Not hearing any updates in a while had me kinda worrying that something was wrong. Now I see that I was wrong, and everyone just enjoyed a relaxation break. Great news btw about Indy doing better with the medication. I hope everything goes well from here in out. More prayers for Indy coming up.

Wow! I don't post much here and I'm just reading this for the first time. It has brought tears to my eyes. Your dedication and devotion to Indy and getting him better is amazing. I know that a lot of people would have simply given up or simply could not afford the care you are giving him. I volunteer for a rescue and far too often you see dogs given up because the cost of treating them is too high. YOu are very lucky too that you have the breeder to help you and give you a break. I know what its like to care for a terminal dog (my Jack had DM) and thank goodness I had my husband to help care for him but honestly some days I just prayed there would be somone else that could help us and give us a break. Indy is certainly one of the lucky ones and if love and devotion could keep him alive he will be here forever. I will definitely say a prayer for Indy and your family.
BTW - I currently have a rescue that came from a puppy mill. She was extremely emaciated, had worms, giardia, you name it, she had it. She had terrible bloody diarreha as well. She was on Flagyl (sp) and Tylacin and that helped somewhat with her diarreha. Pumpkin didn't help which I was surprised about as I've always used it for diarreha. I did finally find a product that was amazing. Honest Kitchen Perfect Form...I cannot say enough about this product. It literally started working overnight. I will forever be keeping some in my fridge. I don't know if it would help or if it would fit in with Indy's diet but its worth having a look at.

Indy is doing good. I really want to say GREAT but it scares me to be to hopeful. I'm a little worried because his tumor looks like it's healing and the infection is finally starting to go down after 3 weeks on Baytril but the past couple of days it been bleeding pretty easy. I'm hoping his white blood cell count isn't down again. Everything else looks good, his gums are still pink and he's a "normal" 5 year old boxer. He goes back to the oncologist on the 13th for his Palladia check up. Please keep the prayers coming. I'll post after the appointment on the 13th.
Thanks again for checking on us.
