I can promise you that it will get better.....in time. I lost a 9 1/2 y/o boxer girl nearly 6 years ago and sometimes it seems like yesterday. Most limes, though, I can think of her and smile. I'm so sorry for your loss. Our fur family leave such big pawprints on our hearts.

Run free, Bruiser.....Godspeed.

It will get better. If it's possible get another Boxer, that definitely speeds up the recovery process, you simply don't have enough time to think about it too much with a little ball of energy roaming around... .

I am very sorry to hear about Bruiser. He died at such a young age. My sympathies to you and your family.

BTW... What caused him to die at only 4 years old?

We still do not know for sure. Our neighbor has Pit Bulls we think he may have gotten into a fight with. He claims he knows nothing about it but I found him very close to his property. Where I found him it was like he was placed there. Other than not having him around that is the hardest thing is not knowing for sure what happened.

Did he sustain bodily injury? Could you see cuts, welts, bruises, etc??

If he looked otherwise fine, but was just laying there.... I would assume that either something poisonous was ingested, or he died of cardiomyopathy (heart disease that can strike suddenly and w/out any warning). Just my guess though.

I'm assuming you didn't take him someplace (like an emergency hospital) where they could do an autopsy...

Gosh, what a terrible thing - not knowing. I really feel awful for you and hope that with time you will be able to deal with this. My heart goes out to you.

It will get better with time. I lost my girl June 8th, she was only 5.5 years old. The first 2 weeks is the hardest. I still think of her often, but it has gotten better.

RIP Bruiser.

This is the hardest thing to talk about. When I found him he was laying on his left side and on his right side from the neck all the way to his back legs the skin was gone. Also there was no blood where he was laying that is why I thought he might have been placed. Where we live there are coyotes so that may be why his skin was gone but that would have happened after he was dead. The coyotes do not attack something his size they prefer smaller and if it had been coyotes there would not have been much left. I never thought of poison or a health issue because of his age but it is possible.

What a horrific story, I'm sorry to hear of Bruisers passing. I don't know what to say, but you should know we are thinking of you.
