I know this is not a Boxer but my persian "Buddy" was killed by pet recalled food!

Well I had to put down my beautiful Persian "buddy" yesterday. That was the hardest thing I have ever had to do.

It all started last Wens. I always give my 3 cats moist once a week (they have to watch their weight)

well I fed them all and the next morning Buddy wakes up and is throwing up, so I call a friend of mine that works at the vet and she says keep and eye on him. Well the next 2 days pass and he seems fine, no more vomitting or anything. So I think all is fine, well Sunday morning we get up and there he is laid out on my dining room chair, still looking good, just not acting himself, and he did that for the next few days, well wens night he would not stop throwing up and was unresponsive, and we do not have emergency vets here, so we had to wait until yesterday morning to take him in. my son and I take him to the vet and the poor guy had gotten so sick so quick that he had gone blind and was in full kidney failure. we did all the normal blood work and that is all that was wrong, the vet told me he had only about a 20% chance to survive if we had put him on fluids and that he was so bad off he had crashed on the table when they were trying to take blood from him and that he had to be put on oxygen, so I knew as much as I loved him, he was in too much pain and that I needed to not be selfish and let him go. I have never had an animal put to sleep, and I hope I never have to do it again, but that is the hardest thing I have ever done.

well I took the can from my trash and the vet has compared it to the list of recalled foods and yep it is one of them, so now I am filing a complaint with the FDA not that it will do anygood, but at least so I can be heard for my beloved baby. I want to thank everybody for taking the time to let me get my grieving out, because I miss him so much and I hope that they make the makers of this food pay for what they have made so many people suffer for.

I miss you my beautiful "BUDDY MAN" I hope you watch over the rest of the gang and show the kids that you are still with them in spirit. Momma loves and misses you!!

I am very sorry you lost Buddy today. Your story in some ways sounded like me loosing Jake, as in the vomiting etc.. You feel so helpless. I hope Buddy and Jake are friends at the bridge

I want to thank everybody for their kind words. This is a very hard time for my kids and I and this made it alot easier to get it off my chest and vent, so again thank you very much.

I am so very sorry to hear about your losing your Buddy. It breaks my heart to hear of babies so sick and dying from tainted food, and the pain and grief this terrible situation has brought to so many. You gave your dear little friend the greatest gift of love by releasing him from his suffering. My heart goes out to you and your children. I'm glad you are speaking out for your little guy. Rest in peace, Buddy.
