My baby girl... My best friend (long)

I'm writing thru my tears as I tell you all the story of my baby girl! It's a story that''s not so different from many others in this forum - except it happened to me & my little Nana!!
I adopted Nana from Boxer Rescue almost four years ago - and since the day she came into my life - we have been the best of friends. She and I moved to Florida about 3 months ago - so since then she and I have been the two amigos!! She went just about everywhere with me!! She was my guardian, my companion, my baby, my best friend - and now she's gone! I can hardly believe it - my heart is broken.
On Saturday morning I woke up to find Nana sacked out on the couch - which isn't abnormal - but when I tried to get her up to go outside - she just looked at me with these sad eyes and didn't move. I glanced around the room and noticed she had vomited several times and even pooped on the floor. Eventually she got up and we went outside - but it seemed every step she took was so difficult. I knew then that something was terribly wrong!! I called the emergency vet and told them we were on our way - I had to carry her into the office she was so weak!! When we got to the office there were no wiggles to see the doctor - she just layed on the floor! When she did finally get up it was to vomit - then she collapsed

After all the tests & procedures the doctor explained to me that Nana had liver cancer and it had spread and a tumor had developed in her belly. That tumor burst and she was bleeding internally! I had no other choice but to help her to the bridge. It was the hardest thing I have EVER done in my life. I held her in my arms, told her how much I loved her and would miss her! I know in my heart it was the best thing for her - she would not suffer any more - but I will miss her more than words can say!
Although she must have been ill for awhile - she was such a trooper she never showed any sign that she was sick.
Nana- I miss you - I will always love you!!

My deepest condolences to you. Nana was so strong and brave. Know that she is running pain free and is happy for the wonderful years you two shared. The last thing she was aware of in this world was you and how much you loved her. Godspeed, pretty Boxer

I am fighting back the tears as I type this. It's never easy to go through this, I know. But you did the best thing for her, and she is home. She will always be with you. Soon all your tears will be filled with smiles, and you will think of all your happy memories together. Just remember, they NEVER leave us. Lot's of love to you. ((hugs))

I am writing through these tears to tell you how sorry I am for your loss. You have to believe that she is pain free now and at the bridge waiting for you. Again, so sorry.

So sorry to hear of your loss. You are right, your story isn't a whole lot different than the rest of ours, we have all lost pieces of our lives when our baby's went to The Bridge.
I can relate to you and Nana's story more so though because I lost my girl in a similar way. She too was bleeding internally from a tumor bursting. It is so hard to lose them at all but so quickly is even harder in my opinion. Know that you are in our thoughts and prayers and remember you have lost a friend but gained an angel. Soon you will be able to think of your sweet Nana and remember the good times and smile. Keep your chin up.

Nana girl, when you see my Tossie up there, please give her a wiggle and a lick for me. You two will be best of friends I am sure. Run free pretty girl
