Brinde

We had to put Brinde down yesterday, she began having seizures only 2 weeks ago but progressed very quickly to where she was so weak we had to carry her up and down the stairs to come up to bed. She was incontinent at the end and Brinde was such a good girl you could see in her eyes she felt bad about it, like she just didn't know what was happening. The vet thought tho we did not do CTs that her symptoms were that of a possible brain lesion.
It is very sad here but I just wanted to let you know, those that are familiar with Brinde. She was a lover and we loved her. We did try phenobarb and it did lessen the severity but she was having seizures daily, I feel guilty that we gave up but this was not quality for her. She followed me everywhere and towards the end she couldn't stand without falling over. We had her just a year and a half but she was the oldest girl I ever had. Its amazing how much they fill your home, it is so quiet and sad.

It sounds like you gave her a lot of love in that year and a half. That was a very special gift; I am sure she knew how you felt about her.

My condolences to you and your family during this difficult time. Brinde will always be with you.

I'm so very sorry for loss of Brinde. Our Morrissey had similar symptoms and in the end couldn't stand up, you did the very best thing for Brinde but I know how hard it is to let them go. She is okay now and will always be with you, sending you and your family hugs...Kate, Morrissey's mommy.

Brinde godspeed sweet girl

thank you all for your so kind thoughts, I needed that. I felt so good adopting an older girl like I was doing a good thing but had NO idea that she would touch us the way she did. I had no idea that in such a short time that I would love her as much as Sophie or Ginger. She helped me get over grieving for Sophie, but I didn't realize I would love her like I do,
its as tho she had always been here. She was an incredible dog, I have friends that have adopted and had horror stories and they fell in love with Brinde too. Obviously I am glad I had her because she was such a sweetheart, you know what a boost it is to see the eyes always on you but man it hurts. again. Thank you all for being here when I needed to talk, you are truly like a family because I know you all know what I am talking about.

How old was she?
I am sorry for your loss but I am glad she rewarded your generosity of adopting her with so much love.

She was 9 1/2, at one time probably a flashy brindle but now was alot of silver brindle. She was a beauty. I have a few pics of her on we always had trouble downloading but there are a couple you can see.
