This is the saddest poem I have ever read! Reading all of your replies about losing your dog's, I just sat here and cried.
cb977~ So sorry for your loss. Exactly like you said. Max was by your side for 11 1/2 years. You made the right choice to be by his. Give Sammi a big bear hug.

Unhappy tears

Thank you for sharing. I have read that before and it is so beautiful. Our Maggie passed in December,on my birthday,at 11 yrs old. She had cancer of the heart and was recovering from surgery. At least she was at home and I was with her. The pain is still awful even though we have another baby *Abby* 8 weeks old. Again thank you sharing.

I've been sitting here for the past half hour reading everyone's experiences with helping their beloved babies over the bridge - and I'm an absolute soggy, sobbing mess!

My girl is only 10 months old and very healthy, so hopefully we have a lot of years ahead of loving her ahead of us. But reading this poem along with everyone's personal experiences just makes me want to sit here forever holding on to my boxer baby and ensure I do every single thing I can to do the right thing for her at all times. I simply cannot imagine how empty my life would feel without her.

This poem is a great reminder to always return the level of unconditional love and commitment to our fur babies that they give to us.
