Angry Dog Park Vent...

So I took Tyson to the dog park yesterday, we often go there. We were the only ones there, this guy with a very young puppy and his 2 kids show up and I am like great... Kids and really small puppy!

Tyson is great with other dogs And loves kids.... But he still jumps up on people and I normally don't let him meet kids so he doesn't knock them over!

The dad calls my dog over, so Tyson runs up to him and the kids start screaming.., then Tyson goes to jump up on the dad and he pretty much knocks Tyson over... I apologized for my jumping dog but he kept calling Tyson over and pushing him down?? I was getting annoyed, then the kids start running wild in the DOG PARK! I bring my daughter 9 years but I tell her it's a dog park not a kid park so stay still!!

So then they finally go to leave and they leave open BOTH gates!!! Tyson gets out and he has a horrible recall so I am like great!!! Tell he guy there is a good reason for having 2 gates... Tyson magically came back!!

Worst dog park day ever

Sorry you had an isolated incident at the dog park, I take Bo about 3 days a week to get a good energy release. I have not had any real bad issues except for one lady had two boxers that were to say the least on the aggresive side. After a few times letting the dogs try to play together I could see that the dogs were not going to get along so I went to another smaller gated part of the park and Bo had a great time with two Cockers. Bo is my first Boxer so I am by no means an expert, but I do know my dog so when a situation that I don't feel comfortable with I take Bo out of the situation, even if it means taking him home. I know you did no wrong and you gave great advise to your daughter, so don't give up on the park, as I have found out that 99% of the people respect the rules and other peoples pets. Dog parks are such a great way to get rid of a boxers energy, at least that is my opinion.

Achilles also loves the dog park, but sometimes I just choose not to take him because of the 1% of people that just dont give a poop about respecting the rules.
