What size crate?

We have made the decision to use a crate for the early stages of our new pup when we're not home and was wondering what size of crate to go with. I know he won't need a large one from 8 weeks to 3 or four months, but if he is still using one after that, should he have a large one?, and if so, should we just start him out with a large one just in case?
Thanks in advance

It all depends on how big you think the puppy will be....I have two and my soon to be 2 year old is a small boxer...she weighs just under 50lbs and my 6month old will be a little bigger...but I got them the same 36inch Life Stages from Petco...I ordered them on line because I wanted them in black and couldn't find them it in the stores...they shipped really fast! If you think the puppy will be a big dog then go with the larger size because you may find you will want to use it longer...mine like their crates and will lie down in them sometimes although we only use them when we are going to be out...
Congrats on your new addition!!

My boy is 65 pounds and where he fits in a 36" one it's a little cramped, so I upgraded to a 42" and it's perfect for him. E-bay IMO is the best and cheapest place to get them, and they are brand new, foldable, and many have free dividers so you can partition the crate off when they're puppies and then adjust as they grow which is probably your best bet.

I'd go with a 42" with a divider.
