12 weeks hard to socialize?

We are adopting a boxer-mix pup, but we won't be getting her until she's 12 weeks old due to holiday traveling. Right now she's an outside dog with interactions with kids and other people, but not an inside, actively socialized pup. I am not real thrilled with the mother's owner keeping her boxer outside (though fenced) and unspayed, but the pup needed a home and we fell for her.

Is it going to be really hard getting a pup who has never lived inside to adjust at that age? Anything I should be doing/thinking about? Appreciate any thoughts!

I agree. Housetraining may be difficult the first day or two, but should fall into normalcy for the age in no time.

There is an age range for optimum socialization time, but I dont remember what it is. 10-16 weeks kinda rings true to me. So you are at the perfect time to socialize the pup on your own.

Good luck!

My girl was an "outside" girl, so to speak. Heated kennels and all but not a "housepup" and she did just fine. Have lots of visitors and lots of treats and she will love company Enjoy your pup!
