Chicken soup mess up....oh boy

Hi All, now I feel really stupid, but when someone said they would give some chicken soup to their pup, I thought it was real chicken broth....do you think this will do any harm? I just gave it to him tonight....he doesn't seem to like his mix of canned Iams puppy food mixed with dry Iams puppy food....

Thanks!
Robyn

It might just give him the runs. I think he will probably be alright once it passes through his system. In regards to the Iams I would really consider feeding him a better quality kibble and can food. Iams is not considered a top quality food. I would try Canidae, Chicken soup for the puppy lovers soul, or Merrick. They are all excellent foods for your pup and they all make both canned and kibble. The Iams you are using is full of things like corn meal and chicken by-product. These are hard on your pups digestive system and can cause other problems.

I don't think one feeding of that will do him harm, but I wouldn't be inclined to do it on a regular basis personally. The broth is probably too high in sodium, and it won't add much nutritional value.

Chicken Soup for the Pet Lovers Soul is a brand of dog food. More about it at www.chickensoupforthepetloverssoul.com
