Question natural diet for 4-5days?

unfortunately the eagle pack holistic bag will be over tomorrow and i have ordered another one but it hasnt arrived yet. i dont want to buy a lower quality food just for a few days. so, im thinking of feeding Keeroff chicken and rice just for few days.
but i dont know 1)how much should be every meal(3 meals) or how should i cook it(just boiled in water?) or if i should add something more to the chicken and the rice.
2)im afraid if the sudden change of diet will cause him diarhea
3)i worry whether he will stop eating dry food.

any ideas???

Mmmm.

A natural diet is not cooked - it is raw. So there is no need to be cooking anything. And in the case of bones, it is dangerous to do so. Cooking just destroys nutrients, and dogs are perfectly designed by nature to consume all of their food raw.

But I'm not sure that switching a dog to a natural raw diet for four days, then trying to go back to kibble is a good idea. Yes, it's likely that he would refuse the kibble after getting a taste for real food. And yes, the changes (especially the change back) may well upset his stomach.

If you're set on going back to feeding kibble afterward, then I'd suggest feeding him a diet of boiled chicken or ground beef and rice would be a better way to go for the few days you're waiting for the new bag of food. You could add some vegetables to the meat/rice mix as well, if you like.

About 800 grams - 1 kg per day (cooked weight) would be about right for a pup of his age.

Unhappy

then i guess it is not a very good choice to give him chicken and rice, i bet he ll stop eating kibble after that

im thinking of buying a 2kg package of Nutro choice then. but not the ultra dog.unfortunately, i havent found any good premium foods at Corfu. only a week on Nutro wont be that harmful, right?

Not necessarily. I'm assuming you mean cooked chicken/rice. That's very different from a natural diet, and it's something many kibble-fed pups are given when they have upset tummies (for example). Most people manage to wean them back onto kibble without too much trouble.

thank god i kind of "pushed" things so, i will have eagle pack holistic select by tomorrow afternoon.
i ordered the chicken and rice formula this time, which is for puppies and adults.so i wont have to give Keeroff more than what will be wriiten on the package.because he wont eat more. all this time with Lamb meal and Rice formula which is for adults he didnt even eat 500gr which was suggested on the package
anyway, i will be posting a new thread as soon as i get the Chicken and Rice formula because i have the impression that contains some different ingredients than those i read in the website of eagle pack.

thank you for your help gmacleod
