Doesn't want to eat??

Buster is 9 mo old and lately has these phases he goes through where he won't eat. Usually its in the morning and we put out his breakfast as normal and he just ignores it and seems uninterested totally. Then he goes in his kennel for the day and we go to work. Most of the time he eats his dinner that night. This seems to happen at least once a week and its starting to worry me. He is not abnormally skinny and weighs 50 lbs right now. There are really no other symptoms that I can tell. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this problem.

Dogs are natural evening feeders...it's not uncommon for them to not feel hungry early in the morning. Since you work maybe you could try feeding twice in the evenings. I've just started doing this...I feed at 4:30 as soon as I get home from work and again around 9. So far it's working out great.

We kinda had the same problem with max and eating. MY husband is on swing shift and I work all day shift. So when it come around to hubby being on day shift, Max wouldnt eat his food in the morning, cause he knew he was going to have to go in crate and we were leaving. I would have to feed him when i got home from work at 1:00pm and then he would eat. Maybe you could try feeding him when one of yeas got home for a couple of days and see if he eats then, maybe is feeding times will have to be adjusted to when one of yous is home. Please let us know how things work out!

Bart is 8 months old tomorrow and does exactly the same! I've come to learn that Boxers know everything there is about playing mind games - they'll try anything just to worry us. We are getting a new puppy at Christmas so perhaps when there is competition Bart will eat better. In the meantime he's full of beans and he eats when he's good and ready.

Chance is the EXACT same way. I found that since he loves to please; whenver he did eat, I stood over him and praised and praised and praised. Now, it is like he is more excited about eating.
