Need to change my puppys food

Hello !

So i have been feeding my pup Eukanuba puppy large breed, and have come across a lot of bad reviews. I am shocked at what companies are putting in dog food and how vets can recommend such disturbing products for me to feed my pup. I have no clue what to feed her now ever food i research has bad reviews I want the absolute best but cant find it ??? so far the only food ive come across that doesnt have that many bad reviews is Orijen.
Am i better off just boiling chicken, rice and veg?

Any advice would be great?
thanks <3

Please check Dog Food Analysis - Reviews of kibble for dog food reviews. I'd stick with foods that rate 5-6 stars. Popular ones are Orijen, Acana, Earthborn, and Taste of the Wild. I feed TOTW Pacific Stream, b/c it's less costly than the others. Earthborn isn't too terribly expensie either.

Many boxers can't tolerate grains, so I'm glad you're looking for a better food. Concentrate on grain free ones.

Personally, I would find a really good quality kibble and feed that for now. There are some really great kibble options out there that do an excellent job at supplying all the nutrients dogs need without all the grains, fillers, and cheap ingredients that the low-grade foods contain. I have a tough enough time figuring out how to create a balanced diet for my human family--I'd be afraid that if I just started homecooking for my dogs that I would miss something and my dogs would suffer.

If you truely are interested in homecooking, you can research homecooking for your dog. I don't homecook for my dogs, but I do think that boiled chicken, rice and vegetables isn't necessarily going to offer a balanced diet with the right proportions of all the minerals, vitamins, nutrients that your dog needs. Different veggies supply different nutrients. Different cuts of meat and organs supply different nutrients. You can use commercial supplements or supplement a basic homecooked diet by incorporating a variety of whole foods.

Lots of people homecook for their dogs and that is a fine choice, but read up on it first so you know you are doing it correctly and in the meantime, definitely switch to a higher-quality kibble.
