Food for really young puppy?

Hello! I wanted some advice. We just got our boxer puppy about a week ago. He was/is really young (only 5 1/2 weeks old now). His mother decided that at 3 1/2 to 4 weeks, she didn't want anything to do with her puppies anymore. The breeder that we got her from said that they were doing great and were eating what the parent's ate, which was a dog food from Del's Farm Supply mixed with infant formula. We tried to get him to eat this, but he wouldn't touch the dog food. We have now switched him to a puppy soft food and dry food, which he is eating, but is getting really bad diahrea. Does anyone have any suggestions on what would be best for our little guy? I am in serious doubt that the breeder was being truthful about mom rejecting the puppies, because when we got him, we was still rutting and trying to find a place to nurse. I think the breeder probably just wanted the money that she was getting from the puppies. Not sure if there is somewhere to report the breeder to or not. Help would be greatly appreciated!

I personally would boil some chicken and rice and give small amounts through out the day. This will give his tummy a rest and heal up a bit.
Some more experienced people will be chiming in.
Hope he feels better soon.
