Question questions about the transition to adult food

Ok so Konan will almost be 10 months old. We have half of a bag of puppy food left. I want to start switching him to adult food. He currently eats Chicken Soup for Puppies and I want to switch him to the Chicken Soup for Adults (which his big sister is on). Do I need to mix the food over a week or can I just make the switch since it is the same brand? Also he is a skinny boy (very tall but has not filled out yet). We currently feed him a cup and a 1/4 in the AM and PM and 1 cup midday (total 3.5 cups). We had to switch back to 3 feedings a day because he couldn't handle any more food at 2 sittings without getting diahhrea and the vet said he was too skinny. So anyway, should I follow the feeding guidlines on the adult food for his weight and just split that up into 3 feedings and then adjust as necessary?

Thanks for all the input!

If you still have the food left, I would go ahead and mix it with the adult for a week for adjustment. Why did the vet say he was too skinny? Boxer's aren't meant to look like Rotties and I think sometimes people forget they aren't supposed to be as filled out as other breeds, especially at 10 months. It will take a couple of years for him to totally fill out. I wouldn't worry so much about quantity as quality of the feedings. You could add meat to his meals for the extra protein instead of more kibble. In boxers, you should be able to see the last couple of ribs and be able to feel the backbone easily. I know you already know most of this since you have another boxer Roxy (love the Avatar!). I wouldn't sweat the "too skinny" thing right now, he will fill out.
