If you still have the food left, I would go ahead and mix it with the adult for a week for adjustment. Why did the vet say he was too skinny? Boxer's aren't meant to look like Rotties and I think sometimes people forget they aren't supposed to be as filled out as other breeds, especially at 10 months. It will take a couple of years for him to totally fill out. I wouldn't worry so much about quantity as quality of the feedings. You could add meat to his meals for the extra protein instead of more kibble. In boxers, you should be able to see the last couple of ribs and be able to feel the backbone easily. I know you already know most of this since you have another boxer Roxy (love the Avatar!). I wouldn't sweat the "too skinny" thing right now, he will fill out.
