Absolutely say you will continue to use it and then when you get that puppy home, THROW IT OUT!!! Don't give them another morsel!

I have never used this product, but have read the reviews so I can pass it along to those who do. They changed their formula and some dogs (a lot actually) have gotten sick or died from "mysterious" complications while being fed this food. It has caused liver damage, seizures, vomiting and chronic diahrea and many other irreprable (sp?) diseases.

It's just not worth the risk if there are so many other higher quality and safer, healthier options out there. Check dogfoodanalysis.com.

Hmmm......I was on DFA a little while ago and Canidae is still rated as a 5 star food even with the formula change. ???

Yes because ingredient wise it is fine, but for whatever reason many many dogs have problems on it (mine included).

Personally we had MAJOR issues with Canidae after the formula change in my household and I have stopped recommending it to others due to all of the consumer complaints and pending lawsuits against them it just wasn't worth the risk IMO. I'd personally recommend Wellness, Solid Gold, Natural Balance, california Natural, Innova something along those lines. I'm all along the mindset that some people blame issues on their dog's food unwarranted, but when there's enough people having problems to be bringing class action lawsuits against a company, personally that is a company I'm going to stay away from. It is not manufactured in a different plant, different QC protocols, etc and it's just a risk that I'm not willing to take or recommend to others. It was also very apparent that the company didn't give a lick about their customers when so many people voiced their negative opinions on the formula change yet they continue to say it is now a better food than it was before. I'd stay far far away (and I do).

Good luck

Absolutely. He'll like it fine if that's what you feed him. Dogs are only picky if you make them that way.

I have to agree with everyone else. Tyson was one of those dogs that had a horrible time when they changed it. It was a complete nighmare. I wouldn't reccommend it for a fly. The company didn't even let people know they were changing the formula. I personally wouldn't chance it even if there are no problems. Too many people had problems, and as stated, serious enough for lawsuits. As stated above, there are many other good foods.
