Whole Eggs???

So I heard you can give your boxer an occasional whole egg? Is that true? Raw?

Yep, it's true. I give Tyson a couple a week. They can have shell and all. Shell is a calcium source for them also. You can give it raw, or cooked. It is great for their skin and coats. Just watch the gas!!
I actually just gave Tyson some ground up shell and sprinkled it on his food. Gobbled it all up.

I usually make scrambled eggs on the weekend for me, and will add another one for Zeus. He loves it!

So if I wanted to add egg to his food...do I have to cook it, or can he eat it mixed in there raw with the shell. What's better for them...cooked or raw?

(I used give cooked eggs to my pits...but I don't know why I didn't think to give some to Gotti...lol)

I heard you should always feed them cooked eggs.

Wow I've never even thought of giving them the shell too. I give them a raw egg with their dinner every once in a while as a treat and they LOVE it.

Whole raw eggs are one of nature's power foods, full of protein, vitamins, calcium, and digestion supporting enzymes. Cooking only destroys much of the beneficial qualities of eggs. That's why even human athletes often consume raw eggs.

As with everything in life, moderation is key. For your 4 legged friends, two whole raw eggs (in separate meals) per week is plenty for a balanced and complete diet.

Talking

Awesome! I think I am way too excited about this LOL. I can't wait to see how he reacts. I am going to mix a raw egg in his meal along with the broken shells...I will let you all know how he does! Thanks for the replies!

I gave mine whole raw eggs it was a riot to watch them as they learned that this rolling wiggly thing was edible. Now they just chow down so I crack it and put it with their food. Its less messy that way.
