Please Help!

When I first brought Kona home I had her on Canidae, well just recently she has had some intestinal problems and the vet recommended I put her on since diet. Ever since she has been on it she has had perfect poops, I gradually am switching her over to TOTW and once again her poops are mushy. I took her off of Canidae because it wasn't agreeing with her, I don't want to keep her on SD but I am so afraid to keep switching, can anyone recommend a kibble for sensitive stomachs?

I feed my dog with Colitis Natural Balance Lamb Meal and Brown Rice or Duck and Potato, also California Natural foods are good. How fast are you switching? You may be transitioning too quickly. If your pup has that sensitive of a stomach I would take AT LEAST 7 days if not closer to 10 or 12 and switch really really gradually. It may just be trial and error unfortunately what works for one dog doesn't always work for another.

Best of luck!

Also I'd recommend giving chicken and rice over the Science Diet. JMO.

Nero had the same issue - runny poo. After the science diet - we have him on wellness and he is doing better. I think the Canadae was too rich for him.

I am using Natural Balance, Lamb & Rice, allergy formula. Works really well. Then I add some can food each meal which they eat much faster and hungrily. Lily gained about 7 lbs. right off the bat with this food. She is also very tall and lean compared to most other boxer's we know.

Thanks for all of your input, I'm going to try Natural Balance. I have heard alot of good reviews on it, I am almost out of SD so I had to transition a little more then normally. I may even have to go straight to the NB by the weekend. Anything I can do to lessen the runny poo while she starts the new food??

We had the same issues, Premium Edge, Innova, etc. She finally took to Wellness Puppy. They also have a guarantee. If you or your pup don't like it, return it for a full refund. They make Wellness Puppy treats. Although, we had to start with a bland diet of just chicken and rice, and slowly add in Wellness over a course of 2wks.

Yes, make the transition over about a 5-7 day period of adding less SD and more NB each day. That way it isn't a shock to their system.
