What food would you recommend?
Hi all! I'm a new Boxer Mommy and I've done more research in the past 2 weeks on boxers then I have ever done on anything in my entire life..hehe. I have found an unbelievable amount of help on this website, so first of all, I just wanted to tell you all how AWESOME you are.=) I was hoping that maybe you would have some suggestions on what type of food to feed my new baby. She is doing okay with the food we have her on now. I just want to make sure she gets the absolute best nutrition possible. She was the runt, and at 7 weeks she only weighs 4.3 pounds.

I would check out www.dogfoodanalysis.com you want to be feeding at least a 4 star food. Some good foods are Wellness, Natural Balance, Solid Gold, Innova, California Natural, to name a few.

I really liked Wellness for puppy. You can buy it at Petco and I believe it is a five star food. Abbie really liked this as well.

I used Canidae with my first boxer and had planned to use it again with my new puppy until they changed their formula. I then started to research alternative foods and finally found Fromm Gold Puppy. It came highly recommended. He is healthy and his coat is beautiful. I get a lot of compliments. I plan to keep him on that until he is one and then either switch him to Fromm Adult or Fromm All Life Stages, which are interchangeable. That was a big plus for me!

I have Buster on Wellness Puppy. He seems to really like it. I think it's a 5 star (maybe 4).

Fromms
We feed Morgan Fromms...we had her on the Salmon and veggie formula and just switched her to the duck/potato for a change.
She loves it and it's make right here in Wisconsin (I think!).

+1 on the Wellness for puppies. We first used Iams, but after researching a bit on DFA, switched to wellness large breed formula for puppies and we never looked back.

Innova
I first tried wellness for puppies and my boy had the runs. I then switched to avoderm which worked well, but he stopped eating, so I switched him to Innova. So far, so good. When I am working again, he is going on the raw diet.
