I Adopted Your Pet today

I adopted your pet today...
The one you left at the pound;
The one you had for ten years
And no longer wanted around.

I adopted your pet today...
Did you know that he's lost weight?
Did you know he's scared and depressed
And seems to have lost all faith?

I adopted your pet today...
He had fleas and a little cold;
Guess you don't care what shape he's in
— You abandoned him I am told.

I adopted your pet today...
Were you having a baby or moving away?
Did you suddenly develop allergies,
Or was there NO reason he couldn't stay?

I adopted your pet today...
He doesn't play or even eat much;
I guess he's very sad inside and
It'll take time for him to trust.

I adopted your pet today...
And here he is going to stay;
He's found his FOREVER home
And a warm bed in which to lay.

I adopted your pet today...

I, too, adopted your pet today. And they are forgetting all about you and all the bad you have done. They are happy, and getting all the love they were neglected of. Their internal wounds are healing. Finally able to express their feelings. Their mind and eyes are now bright. And they all lay beside me every single night. Thank you for being selfish, as it taught me not to be!

I also adopted your pet. After many trips to the vet , many meds and plenty money, she finally recovered from the hookworms you intentionally neglected. She is the sweetest, truest thing I have ever met. You missed out and thank you for doing so. She would have never blossomed into the wonderful girl she is in your home.

I agree, wonderful poem. Cat is the first Boxer I got so young at 6 months. She truly is the sweetest thing. She has such a love for life. She has such a true heartand is so well behaved. She would have been wasted on such an unappreciative family.

I also adopted your pet today,
the one you beat then threw away!

She was skin and bones when I saved her from the pound,
and extremely scared when I wasn't around.

After weeks of being loved by 2 skin kids and me,
she is finally running and playing with glee.

She is forever scarred by your evil deeds,
but she knows we will take care of all her needs.

I don't even remember life before bringing home our precious Harley Girl. Your evil stupidity has brought us an amazing gift. One that we will treasure until the day she passes over and runs forever free at the rainbow bridge.
