Unhappy Rambunctious boxers are hazardous to your health

Not a poem, but a short story:

Rambunctious boxers are hazardous to your health, at least to my health!

The first incident between Clare and I happened in the spring of 2008. We were on one of our daily morning walks. It happened to be garbage day, which is not my favorite day for walking. We walked by a certain pair of cans placed on the sidewalk in front of this persons house. I don’t like walking around the cans on the street, so we went on the other side into their yard. I happened to trip over the brick border and was loosing my balance. I was however, regaining my balance, but in the meantime Clare got spooked, she pulled away from me, making me hit the ground, flat on my face and she pulled the leash right from my grip. I got up feeling rather foolish and surveyed the damage. I had a scraped chin, shoulder and knee. I looked around and didn’t see anyone around laughing at my stupidity. We continued our walk, but all the while feeling silly with myself.

Today, a perfect fall morning, again in 2008, we were on another one of our walks. This time, the hubby came with. Now he is an instigator when it comes to rough play with Clare. When she runs, she likes to skim right by your leg for some reason. We got to the park where we take Clare’s leash off so she can run like the wind. Steve threw a tennis ball so Clare can chase it, which she did and retrieved it promptly. I was walking ahead of the two of them and one more time he threw the ball and Clare decided to come around me from behind, racing, and I mean racing to get to that tennis ball. She did what Steve called a classic football play, she clipped me. I didn’t even see her coming, but the next thing I knew, I was flat on my back! Steve said I was horizontal three feet off the ground in mid air. I hit the ground hard, first my lower back then my elbow and head. Bam! Ouch!
We sat there a few minutes while I was seeing if my head was still attached, then headed home slowly.

I guess I have to make sure I don’t turn my back on her!

Oh my.... I hope you are OK. Our babies don't know their own strength sometimes. Cody and Aniah both slammed into me yesterday evening at the same time, I seriously thought I had lost both of my kneecaps. It is not fun falling on a hard, cold and slightly squishy ground, so much for the nice warm shower I had just gotten out of.......

Hope you are ok. I have been knocked down a couple of times, if it doesn't hurt your body it sure gets your ego. Usually the dog ends up running around licking your face and trying to figure out what this new game is that mom wants to play.
