Cant think of a title for this one

Okay, one more amatuer poetry attempt. I think I cried the entire time I typed this and changed the rythm about 50 times LOL!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I'll take you home today sweet girl
You just wait and see
They say your feeling better now
So just wait hre for me.
Ill come back when my work-day's done
Pick you up and we can go
Please dont look at me with those sad eyes
I'll be back to take you home
I'm here! Lets go! It's time to leave!
I've got your leash you see?
What's wrong Big Girl? Are you okay?
Why dont you run to me?
Let's get you home and get you fed
You'll feel much better then
And there's a big surprise for you
I got you a new bed!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I thought that you would like this food
Why wont you eat for me?
Why do you breathe so very fast?
Why do you seem so weak?

Just lay here on your new bed and sleep
And tomorrow the vet's expertise we will seek
I'll lay down beside you and rub your sweet face
And maybe your heart wont continue to race.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I'm so sorry sweet baby
They say your too sick
They say I have to make a decision
And quick.
No medicine can save you
It's far too advanced
And even with surgery
You've hardly a chance.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Please understand my sweet, precious girl
So that you will not suffer
You must leave this world.

Please know that I love you
I have from the start
You've been such a good girl
This is breaking my heart.

Come lay here with me
I'll hold you in my arms
Your so soft and so cudly
Your breath is so warm.

Close your eyes my sweet baby
And hear Mommy speak
I love you, I'll miss you
Now drift off to sleep.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And so you go home today sweet girl
And leave me here to grieve
But I know you'll be there at The Bridge
Waiting faithfully for me.
What a beautiful (yet sad) poem. I'm so sorry for your loss. I can understand why you'd be crying while writing that...made me cry while reading it.
Just beautiful.....
This poem hit me like a BRICK and it reminds me EXACTLY how I felt when I lost my wonderful Boxer girl Cassie last year on October 24th. She luckily didnt suffer at all until her final 3-4 hours - but this poem fits exactly all the emotions I felt in those last hours she was with us...... I miss her soo much.
I just got my new puppy JOURNEY last friday and ever since then, I think about Cassie more than ever and have even been calling my 5 YO girl Cassie the past week now and then.
I plan to print your poem and put it in a picture frame I have of my lovable and faithful companion Cassie and the postage stamps I had made with her picture on them.
not to use my new puppies name in the title -
But "Princess's Journey" kind of fits.....
the tears wont stop coming down my face and I had just finished makeup before hubby takes me to lunch. oh well, the poem was WELL WORTH IT
thanks again
Perfect!!.....
"Princess's Journey" has to be the most perfect name for this! Thank you so much, it was just the title I was looking for. Sorry for making everyone cry, I really appreciate all of the compliments though!
I am glad you like the name - -
I totally fits the poem.
Last year I had lost Cassie, then one of my GFs lost her beloved Lady and then a friend I have had for 35 years lost her dog Gabby.
I sent them both the copy of your wonderful poem and they said to THANK YOU for it - as they know the emotions - exactly
thanks again and so very sorry for the loss of Princess
