Talking Nikon Coolpix 4600 for Christmas!

My parents got us a Nikon Coolpix 4600 digital camera for Christmas!! This was a much wanted gift, as we are building a house and are trying to take pictures throughout the process, and have to keep borrowing other people's cameras. It is nice to be able to take pictures of Lucky too!

Does anyone have this camera? What do you love or hate about it? So far we have really enjoyed it, it is very user friendly.

I got the Nikon CoolPix 5600 for Christmas. I am pretty sure they are very similar. I love it!! It is very easy to use and seems to take great pictures. I still can't figure out how to make the pictures small enough to download on here. I was very excited to get it so I could post some pictures of AJ but I can't get it to work!

We got the same camera!!! I think what I hate the MOST about the camera itself is I can't figure out which setting to be on where it's going to take a good picture but not flash a billion times before it clicks the picture!! ehhehehe...also, the software it comes with once you transfer the pictures to your computer doesn't seem to have the ability to resize the pictures....looks like you have to use a different program for that...unless i am COMPLETELY missing it...LOL

Check your user manual for how to compress or resize pictures. The software that comes with the camera should do the job Alternatively, there are plenty of free programs you can download from the internet that will resize your pics for you (best size for the web is 640x480 pixels) - one of these is irfanview which is pretty easy to use. You can download it for free from www.irfanview.com

ok thanks!!! I do have a program I was using before I got the digital, but I don't know how to open the digital pictures with the other program. But then again, I haven't really tried yet either!! I'm sure i'll figure it out...

I downloaded the free software and was able to figure it all out pretty quickly and I'm pretty technologically illiterate.... I was also happy to see that the reduced sized pictures were emailed much much faster as well!!! I LOVE my new camera!!
