If you're going to get a camera, use www.pricegrabber.com
I saved over $200.00 on my DigiCam. I bought a Minolta S414; 4.1 Mega pixel real cheap.

but you are probably in the SLR forum.
The D60 looks great but it was SO expensive! And that was just for the body. I will wait until the prices are more reasonable. The eos 10D that remplaced the D60 is already less expensive.
It was financially more interesting for me to have two "extreme" (long zoom and wide angle - I can take photos from 19 to 370 mm) than to pay for the D60 and the lenses (which are very expensive too for the good ones) but you certainly already had the lenses

I miss your autofocus!

Yes, i'm in Canon SLR talk forum.
The 10D is less expensive than D60 ,but a pro-photographer friend of mine bought the D60 for me for 2000 euro the body and 250 euro a 512 mb cart(the first price here was 4600 euro and when the price fell was 3600euro)
So i can use again my lenses,E-TTL flash and filters which i used on my Canon eos 500N
The only disadvantage....it's veeeery heavy
